Album Description
Too Soon, Too Late is the debut album of jazz double bassist and composer Simon Osuna as a bandleader. Recorded in New York and released by Fresh Sound Records, the album features Tommaso Perazzo on piano, Willie Bowman on drums, with special guests Grant Stewart on tenor saxophone and Joan Fort on guitar.
The record brings the double bass to the forefront, following in the footsteps of the great bass-led recordings in jazz and highlighting the instrument as both the foundation of the ensemble and a solo voice. The music reflects the experiences and musical influences that have shaped his journey through Barcelona, Amsterdam and New York, combining strong rhythmic drive, lyrical melodies and the warm, acoustic sound of the ensemble.
