In the midst of the unfathomable horror and anger, the lives of the victims as neighbors to all of us also deserve celebration and remembrance. All of these people touched others in their lives in many ways, who each then touched other people in theirs, and so on.
It is not a sad piece - the music reflects the joy in the intertwined complexity of the lives that have been lost with the lives of all still here. I’ve tried to make it encompass and weave together both a jubilant tribute and a heartfelt elegy.
