Album Description
The World and Its People is a drum-less chamber session led by Yosef Gutman Levitt on upright bass and five-string acoustic bass guitar, with Tal Yahalom on nylon- and steel-string acoustic guitars, Omri Mor on piano and Yoed Nir on cello. Levitt has recorded two duo albums with Yahalom, Tsuf Harim and Tal Yasis, and the trio album Upside Down Mountain with Mor.
Most of the pieces are Levitt’s own, written with producer Gilad Ronen, who arranged the album; among the others are B’nei Heichala and Nigun Tzemach Tzedek. The Goat Rodeo Sessions was one of the inspirations, and Richard King, who mixed that record, mixed this one. Recorded in Jerusalem.
“Everybody worked so hard in bringing creative ideas to this session,” Levitt says. “The music is very much inspired by our prior interactions.”
