Album Description

A Note/Explanation: "Someday all good music will return from its assorted labels which inhibit it." -Charles Mingus, 1963. The concept of the CD arose from the reality of my professional experience of the past 5 years. To be a young jazz musician in this day and age, you live in 6 different eras at once. Most of the colleagues I work with also navigate a contemporary dynamic of times, styles and regions. I hope to share the joy of this experience with you: getting to play swing on Monday, hip hop on Tuesday, Brazilian MPB on Wednesday, for as many different kinds of people as one could imagine. So give it a chance; I hope you enjoy the journey. -Tony DePaolis
