On an overcast and rainy day last January, I decided it was time to do a thorough cleaning of my studio space. As many musicians, I always have intentions of taking my random stacks of music and organizing them in some rational system, but there is always some distraction that undermines the task. That day, however, I persisted and had the fortune of finding three compositional sketches that I had started many years ago and had abandoned and long forgotten. This discovery, as well as a long time desire to record with strings brought about the concept for this recording. Collaborating with the wonderfully accomplished musicians on the session was a joy and breathed life into this lost music.
