Album Description
So Amor is vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Tom Ricci’s first full-length jazz album, bringing together a decade of music that began with his debut single, “Simply Love,” in 2015. Recorded across Los Angeles, Orange County and Buenos Aires, the album blends vocal jazz, bossa nova, tango, blues and Latin American song through original compositions and reimagined classics.
Ricci produced the majority of the album and wrote the original songs “Só Amor,” “Spanish Lament” and “Simply Love.” Grammy-winning producer and mixer Rob Chiarelli produced and mixed “Simply Love” and “Só Amor,” while Karam Salem mixed several of the album’s Buenos Aires recordings. Selected tracks were mastered by Gavin Lurssen.
The album features drummer Pipi Piazzolla, bassist Bruno Migotto, pianist and arranger Pablo Sanguinetti, and musicians Will Ferguson, Chris Ehler and Marty Soltis. Spanning multiple cities, recording sessions and periods of Ricci’s artistic life, So Amor forms a cohesive collection rooted in intimacy, cultural connection and a shared language between jazz and Latin American music.
