" When I wrote the piano piece Insuperável , it was Brazilian Carnival. Ash Wednesday. I composed it in February 2021, in the same week I lost my Mother. Now, at the end of July, it would be her birthday. A year and a half later, I composed the piece “Inesquecível”, in the same week my daughter was born. In August my little girl will turn one year old. The hiatus that separates the creation of one work from the other is also the painful, invisible barrier of time that prevents this embrace between the three of us — mother, son, and granddaughter. This sorrow I will have to carry with me forever, but of the three of us, I am the fortunate one, granted the time of life with both. My mother was never able to hold her granddaughter in her arms, and the experience of inevitability presents itself not only as pure pain, but also as a lesson in humility before everything that is inescapable: such is the human condition. Mama... Mama, all I can do is eternalize this embrace between the three of us through music. This will be our space — insuperable, unforgettable. This is the strength of music, this is the power of the poetry of this impossible encounter. We embrace you — your granddaughter and your son. Happy birthday, thank you for everything…"
