Jazz fusion drummer Bob Holz is releasing the album, Night Watch on MVD Audio on August 9th, 2024. Night Watch is Bob's seventh record for MVD Audio. Joining Holz are Brandon Fields (saxophone), Ralphe Armstrong (bass), Alex Machacek (guitar) and Billy Steinway (keyboards).

There are ten tracks which exemplify Holz's reputation as one of jazz fusions most coveted artists to come along in the last ten years. Night Watch is a fantastic musical journey through Holz's illustrious career, collaborating with the likes of John McLaughlin, Jean Luc Ponty, Darryl Jones, Larry Coryell, Randy Brecker, Stanley Clarke and Mike Stern. The album zeros in on Bob's accomplishments as a drummer and composer. Recorded at the famed venue Catalina Jazz in Hollywood on 9/8/23, Night Watch is filled with beautiful, musical moments featuring some incredible solo performances by Holz.

Here we witness Bob in his natural idiom in a series of musical conversations with his band Bob Holz Fusion Collaborative. The chemistry between Holz and bass legend, Ralphe Armstrong is uncanny. They lay a foundational groove that's undeniably honest and contemporary. The interplay between Brandon Fields and Austrian guitarist, Alex Machacek is unearthly as exemplified on the Holz/Steinway composition, Silverthorne. This is jazz fusion at its highest level with a wonderfully current stylistic approach.

Pianist Billy Steinway is featured prominently with some beautiful solo piano sketches. All in all, Night Watch is sure to turn heads in the jazz fusion world and further solidify Holz as one of the top drummers and composers on the scene today.
