Bob attended Berklee College of Music and later studied with Dave Weckl and Billy Cobham. As of 2026, Bob Holz has eight albums released on MVD Audio. The most recent album is Honoring Larry Coryell. Bob has recorded and performed with Larry Coryell, Jean Luc Ponty, Darryl Jones, John McLaughlin, Dean Brown, Elliot Yamin, Stanley Clarke, Mike Stern, Randy Brecker, Ralphe Armstrong, Steve Weingart, Ada Rovatti, Alex Machacek, Chet Catallo, Brandon Fields, Alex Acuna, Airto Moreira, Jamie Glaser, Mike Miller and Billy Steinway. His touring band, Bob Holz and A Vision Forward consists of Bob on drums, Jamie Glaser on guitar, Ralphe Armstrong on bass and Billy Steinway on keyboards.
