‘Monochrome’, the debut release from Antipodean-guitarist and composer Jamie Pye is a nod to the euphoric and melancholic modern jazz sound ubiquitous in New York, delivered through the peripheral of an improviser from Aotearoa. A collection of unique and contrasting tracks; Monochrome comprises honest melodies across guitar and piano voices, a myriad of both familiar grooves and complex rhythms, and elaborate solos highlighting each member’s distinct musical sound.
