On Minnesota, Norwegian guitarist and composer Trond Kallevåg continues his journey through soundscapes where memory, migration, and melody intertwine. Inspired by historical letters, faded photographs, and the cultural ties between Norway and the American Midwest, the album evokes a sense of distance and belonging — a quiet dialogue between two worlds shaped by longing and hope. Together with Gard Nilssen (drums), Mats Eilertsen (double bass) and Tuva Halse (violin), Kallevåg crafts an intimate, cinematic atmosphere filled with lyrical guitar tones, shimmering pedal steel, and ambient textures. Recorded in Oslo and released on Hubro, Minnesota feels like a sonic road movie — a meditation on heritage, travel, and the invisible threads connecting past and present.
