Album Description
Recorded live at Dazzle Denver on May 31, 2026 for a sold out crowd; only a few stage mics were needed to capture this special night of music.
This live record primarily features original music from my most recent studio album "Focus", and consists of the same band: Gabriel Mervine on trumpet, Tom Amend on piano and Seth Lewis on bass. My brother Derek Wiens joins on guitar as a special guest for our take of the traditional tune "Doll of the Bride" (a staple in the Elvin Jones "Jazz Machine").
As is often the case when our band performs, this album is dynamic, swinging, varied, spontaneous, joyful, and showcases 4 musicians who genuinely love playing music together.
I hope you enjoy :)
