Album Description

Description: Multi-instrumentalist Alan Hampton delivers an intimate rendition of Walter Donaldson's 1930 song "Little White Lies," recorded in two spontaneous takes at his Pasadena studio. Known for his work with Andrew Bird, Rufus Wainwright, and Gretchen Parlato, Hampton brings his signature sensitivity and production skill to this stripped- down performance featuring guitar, vocals, and upright bass. The first in a series of minimalist recordings from BYNK Records, the track showcases Hampton's gift for meeting a song exactly where it needs to be—revealing the sophisticated harmonic complexities that have made this American standard endure for nearly a century.
