Album Description
Julian Banks Quartet | OxyMoron is my first album in ten years and features my quartet with James Gilligan on bass, Louis King on guitar and Joe Talia on drums, with Kade Brown guesting on keyboards. Across six tracks, the album reflects where my writing and playing have developed over the past decade, combining strong melodic and groove based material with the improvisation and spontaneity that sits at the centre of the band. The album was mixed and mastered by Joe Talia, with the final track, “Midnight Morning,” recorded live at the Jazz Lab in Brunswick, Melbourne. OxyMoron was released on 18 September 2026.
