Album Description
Kátir Kallar is a Faroese jazz band that plays Faroese jazz standards with great joy. The band members select well-known Faroese songs and arrange them as jazz standards, in a manner similar to international jazz bands.
In this way, the Faroese audience is drawn into the band's concert journey where they feel at home and often sing along, even though the band plays instrumental music.
Foreign audiences will also be treated to a jazz concert with an authentic Faroese flavour.
The debut release “Jazzbók Føroya Fólks”, which was released on Tutl Records in 2015, was nominated for a Faroese Music Award in 2016 for Best New Band of the Year.
