Album Description

After the long project “Entrevero +” (with 3 versions of a disc, songbook, documentary, patches for Pure Data), Entrevero Instrumental search on its 4th album, Incurso, condense the concepts and aesthetic that build an identity of the group currently almost 10 years of existence on a more direct record, composed mostly of together in the studio itself. A work that, from this description, acquires its atmosphere, contrasting and circular. The grooves are built without breaking the beat, with an emphasis on subtle changes in feels (4, 5, 6 and 7). As harmonies and melodies, they seek again possibilities in cycles of tonal chords, passing through polymodalism until they are abandoned in favor of textural composition. Like electronic syntheses, which emerge from processed acoustic tones, mainly from the drum box, they are controlled and punctual. Incurso is also the first album after the definitive entry of the saxophonist Jota P in the band of Hermeto Pascoal, reinforcing the influence of the wizard in the sound of Entrevero Instrumental. Southern regional music, in addition to remaining present in versions improvised and modified rhythms such as chacarera and milonga, it also appears in the form of excerpts from original recordings by musicians like Noel Guarany, again brings the theme of reusing materials, sharing ideas and remixing, increased by the band in other studies, leading new ears as voices of artists who are no longer with us. In this sense, Incurso also brings life to the futuristic work of french sound designer Qebrus, who shortly before his early death in 2017 sent Filipe Maliska's samplers in credits. In short, a record that connects times and places that are much less distant than it seems to play circular rhythms and harmonies that cost ruptures and contradictions in traditions.
