Album Description
There are so many elements that go into any one of Bob Dee's compositions. Chef of the Future, for example, serves up a multi-course meal with all the trimmings, taking you on a tour of various musical cultures, allowing the listener to cleanse his palate each time the melody is reintroduced. It's a fusion of many an exotic cuisine, delivered with a garnish of wit. And the band really gets to testify throughout The Preacher (Adam Klipple's organ delivers you right to the church in Harlem where Bob plays regularly). Bob Dee has been part of the alternative music scene for almost 20 years. His work presents a cross- cultural mélange of Eastern, gospel, free jazz, blues and rock, sometimes morphing from style to style within a composition. Cosmosis is Bob Dee's answer to the question "What if..?" — a laboratory to explore all musical possibilities, unbarred. Bob Dee, Adam Klipple, Rufus Philpot and Grisha Alexiev manage to synthesize all these elements with passion and playfulness. And did I mention they play the hell out of this music?
