Fragment of Times took shape in the rehearsal room, where we allowed the music to emerge in its most spontaneous form. We often began without a defined structure—sometimes from a drum groove, sometimes from suggestions or echoes of music we had been listening to—letting collective improvisation guide the process. More than once, complete pieces surfaced almost unexpectedly, born directly from instinct rather than intention.

What started as a raw flow of musical thoughts gradually evolved into a more deliberate process. We began recording rehearsals to preserve ideas that might otherwise be lost between sessions, and from there worked on shaping the material: refining forms, stressing and redefining meters, identifying meanings and themes, and expanding rhythmic possibilities to give each piece a distinct and recognizable identity.
Our shared modern jazz perspective naturally absorbs our different musical backgrounds—ranging from metal and progressive rock to funk, chamber music, pop, and mainstream jazz. Rather than existing as separate influences, these elements converge into a single, collective language shaped by contrast, dialogue, and interplay.
Time stands at the core of the album’s concept. For us, it is not a fixed structure but an evolving question. Through odd meters, metric modulation, and rhythmic displacement, Fragment of Times explores form and groove as open territories, where instability becomes a space for discovery rather than resolution.
