Chiaroscuro is an intimate piano/guitar duo album inspired in part by the classic Bill Evans/Jim Hall recording Undercurrent. The title refers to the Italian visual-art term for high contrast light and dark in painting. Fort and Brown use that idea musically, exploring the contrast between piano and guitar, percussive attack and warm sustain, harmonic density and linear clarity, shadow and illumination. The album includes four Fort originals and four standards, moving through ballads, swing, bossa nova, blues, and waltz feels while maintaining a unified, conversational duo sound. The ablum releases September 4th, 2026.
