Luther Kent

Luther Kent - vocalist Luther Kent was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. At age 14 Luther began singing professionally and signed with Louisiana based Montel Records. His first record was released under the name of Duke Royal, and the song was "I Wanna Know". Luther toured the country for a three year period while being managed by Walt Daisy who also handled Wayne Cochran & the C.C.Riders. In 1970 Luther became lead singer for a group who previously was the rhythm section for Atlantic records at Criteria Studios in Miami, Florida. This group became known as "Cold Grits" who was signed to Lou Adlers Ode Records in Los Angeles

Alyson Green

Born: June 4, 1960

Jazz singer Alyson Green has gained recognition for her sensitive and unique interpretation of some of the great jazz classics. Jazz has always played a large part in Alyson's life. Her father was a jazz drummer and her maternal grandmother played saxophone with, amongst others, The BBC Radio Big Band. As a child Alyson would listen to Sarah Vaughan and Mel Torme Records while her friends would be listening to pop music. She first trained as an actress and singer, and appeared in many high profile stage,tv and film productions. She also toured the U.K with Glen Miller's brother Herb in the Herb Miller Big Band before forming her own quartet

Nichelle Colvin

Born: December 16

Nichelle Colvin, born and raised in Gary, Indiana, sings with great emotion and sincerity. Her style in one word would be a "Storyteller". Her songs take you on an adventure into many worlds ranging from Love, Hate, Hurt, Pain, Happiness, Laughter and Soulful Ainguish. This sultry singer started her career in church at the Rosa Jackson Youth Choir at Trinity Missionary Baptisit Church. She wrote her first 3 songs, which became Billboard award winning songs as a sophomore in college. "Hold On", "Yaweh" and "What turns you on", as a teenager, not bad for your first time out huh? Her first album project "Circular Soul" was a midwest compilation album of artist in which she wrote a song "Picture That" which would later become on the the songs added to her first album Project "Relations 1"

Mark Lentine

Born: July 5, 1961

Mark Anthony Lentine has been singing since age 6, and writing (lyrics, prose, and poetry) since age 10. He began performing at age 8, and began acting in high school. Lentine's poetry has appeared in the Journal of the American Poetry Review, and he's published many articles, and monographs in regional newspapers, and college reviews. In the early 1990s Lentine branched-out into stand-up comedy, blending his musical interests in Jazz, and Blues with comedy, appearing at such diverse venues as Warmdaddy's, Ortlieb's Jazz House, Lefty's (in Atlantic City), and the 1997 Keswick Avenue Holiday Celebration (where he co-owned a business) in front of a crowd of some 300 people at the Keswick Theater. In 2004, Lentine went back to school for an eventual bachelor's degrees in English, Psychology, and Music, en route to a Master's Degree in Music Therapy. He is director, writer and lead vocalist for three new projects: “Musical Therapy,” musical-comedy review,” The Mark Lentine Syndicate”, and “Jazzenbee.” He continues to perform in regional venues in the tri-state area.

Scot Albertson

Born: November 20, 1957

Debut of performing--June 17, 2005 with a Jazz Quintet @ Danny's Skylight Cabaret Room in NYC. Born in Israel, Yaala Ballin began her jazz career in high school after being selected to participate in master classes with Max Roach, James Moody and Benny Golson. Immersing herself in the artistry of Billie Holliday, Sarah Vaughn and Dinah Washington, with their profound synthesis of soul and sophistication, she rapidly became an integral part of Israel's vibrant jazz community.

In New York, Yaala's widely attended performances have been enthusiastically welcomed by the city's jazz listenership. A critically acclaimed live recording at Birdland and a recent feature on WKCR's Jazz Alternatives continue to broaden her audiences.

Sarah DeLeo is a contemporary jazz vocalist noted for ballads and music with a mellow "Peggy Lee vibe." She has been cited in "The Jazz Singers: The Ultimate Guide" by Scott Yanow, "The New Face of Jazz" by Cicily Janus, and the upcoming ninth edition of the "Penguin Guide to Jazz". In March 2010 Sarah was selected to compete in WNYC's Battle of the Boroughs: Manhattan Throwdown.
