Monica Germino
Violinist Monica Germino (USA/The Netherlands) is on the cutting edge of new music. Hailed by The Sunday Times (UK) as a ‘striking presence’ whose ‘virtuosity was exhilarating’, she has premiered innovative works in such venues as Queen Elizabeth Hall, Barbican Centre, Berliner Festspiele, Alice Tully Hall, Mass MoCA, Le Poisson Rouge, Lincoln Center, Queensland Biennial Festival, Holland Festival and Concertgebouw Amsterdam. She performs often as a soloist and chamber musician with London Sinfonietta, Asko|Schönberg Ensemble, Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Orkest de Volharding, MusikFabrik, Remix and Oslo Sinfonietta. Monica is co-founder of the international four- member ensemble ELECTRA, which commissions composers from all over the world. She has recorded for Attacca Records, Basta Music and BMOP, as well as numerous discs with the Asko|Schönberg Ensemble for Deutsche Grammophon, Nonesuch and Philips.

Ada Pasternak

Born in Moscow, violinist Ada Pasternak relocated with her family to the United States at the age of 6. It was at that young age that she began studying violin with her aunt, New York Philharmonic violinist Asya Meshberg. She continued her studies with Albert Markov at the Manhattan School of Music, and went on to win grand prize in her first music competition in 2001. She has gone on to win numerous competitions and awards, including the Concerto Competition at the Manhattan School of Music.

Helmut Lipsky

Born in Germany, Helmut Lipsky studied violin with Abraham Comfort at the Winterthur Conservatory in Switzerland where he received degrees in performance and pedagogy. He continued his studies in New York, working for three years with Professor Ivan Galamian. Later he was a pupil of Itzhak Perlman at the Brooklyn College Conservatory, where he obtained his Master’s Degree. He was awarded the Presidential Scholars Award from the Council of the City of New York for his merits as a violinist and his academic work. Shortly after he toured the US with chamber music ensembles and as a soloist with orchestras in Switzerland and the United States. Resident of Montreal since 1980, Helmut Lipsky is very active on the national and international music scene as a violonist, composer and teacher in the realms of classical music, jazz and contemporary music

Rosie Hertlein

Rosie Hertlein violin, voice Staten Island, NY Rosi Hertlein's musical background is divided equally between the worlds of improvisation and contemporary classical music. She began serious study of both violin and piano in the late 70's, before switching her focus to violin and vocals in the 80's. She earned a degree in Sociology in 1989, subsequently traveling to Ghana to study the links between society and music in Western Africa. After returning to Germany, she began teaching and working as a composer, violinist, singer and percussionist in a variety of settings. Holger Jetter

Holger Jetter started playing the violin at the age of 6. He studied western classical music, principal instrument violin, at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, Austria. Further studies with Lynn Blakeslee and Jean-Jacques Kantoroff, completed his classical violin education. At the age of 18 he released a first recording with a German rock band. His broad musical interests manifested in many band projects in various styles such as Bluegrass, Argentinean tango and Klezmer music. Holger's strong affinity to improvised music led to the formation of the „Modern String Quartet“

Gabriel Solomon

Violinist Gabriel Solomon made his solo debut with the Calcutta Foundation Orchestra in Calcutta, India, and has appeared as a recitalist in the United States, Canada, and India. He has toured in Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, and South Africa, and has been heard across Canada on CBC Radio. His repertoire includes works by Webern, Berg, Shostakovich, Cage, Davidovsky and Pärt, and also significant pieces from the viola repertoire, including Feldman's Rothko Chapel, Berio's Folk Songs, Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante, and Bartok's Viola Concerto.
Mr. Solomon has been a featured soloist at Brandeis University and MIT. As an orchestral musician, has performed with Opera North, as principal violist of the Lexington Symphony, and with the Vermont and New Hampshire Symphonies. As a chorister, he has performed repertoire including the Tallis motet for 40 voices and the world premiere of the complete "Messe des Pauvres" by Eric Satie. In 1997, Mr. Solomon traveled as a street musician through cities in Europe from Paris to Venice, performing an impromptu solo recital at the Greek Theater in Barcelona.
