Laura Camacho Tango Project

Born:

My musical journey began in Buenos Aires, Argentina, dancing tango with my grandmother in the living room of her apartment in San Telmo. I saw Osvaldo Pugliese perform live, studied at the Manuel de Falla Conservatory of Music, and played double bass in several ensembles. I had an unforgettable experience opening for the legendary Mariano Mores, and the powerful sound of his live performances became one of my musical touchstones. At 30, I left Buenos Aires to further my double bass studies on a university scholarship in the United States, where I earned two advanced degrees. Since then, I have spent over a decade playing with the Athens Tango Project and teaching tango to musicians worldwide
