NATE MAYLAND has recently performed with The Maria Schneider Orchestra, Natalie Merchant, and Chris Thile, and Jennifer Wharton's star-studded BONEGASM - a jazz trombone quartet featuring the writing of Jim McNeely, Renee Rosnes, John Fedchock, Alan Ferber and more. The groups most recent album, "Grit & Grace" was released in 2023 and has received high praise from listeners and reviewers. 

Nate composes for his own group The Wishbone Project, BONEGASM, The Kat Gang Quartet, The Band of Bones, and others.

He has performed and toured with The Maria Schneider Orchestra, The Knights Orchestra, The International Contemporary Ensemble, and others. He has performed the Tomasi Trombone Concerto live on the radio with The Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra, and enjoys the NYC freelance classical world. He studied under the legendary Edward Kleinhammer, M. Dee Stewart, Scott Hartmann, Sam Burtis and David Baker. ​​​

Martin Sullivan

Born: March 5, 1979

Martin has spent the last eight years away from his home state of California to pursue the study and performance of music. During this time he received a bachelor’s degree in music from Indiana University and a master’s degree in music from the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. During one summer spent in Los Angeles, Martin was one of the four trombone players in the nation chosen to participate in the Henry Mancini Institute. Ed Byrne (born December 30, 1946) is an American jazz trombonist, composer,arranger, educator, and author known for his great trombone sonic fingerprint and his distinctively original compositions. After several years as a full time faculty member of Berklee College, Ed moved to NYC where he has been performing and recording for decades with many of the world’s most critically-acclaimed jazz, Latin jazz, salsa, and soul artists, including Chet Baker, Joe Henderson, Herbie Hancock, Charles Mingus, Eddie Palmieri, The Fania All Stars, Buddy Rich, Manu Dibango, James Brown, Tito Puente, Archie Shepp, Maynard Ferguson—and scores of others.

Tom Malone

Born: June 16, 1947

Tom "Bones" Malone began his professional career on a job playing lead trumpet with Brenda Lee at a club in Jackson, MS, while enrolled at the University of Southern Mississippi. In response to a call from Warren Covington, leader of The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, he expanded into contracting musicians. After transferring to North Texas State University, Malone continued working as both a player and a contractor for a variety of groups. Upon graduation, Malone worked in bands of Woody Herman (1969), Duke Pearson (1970), Louie Bellson (1971), Doc Severinsen and Blood, Sweat & Tears (1973). In 1973, Malone began a close, 15-year association with Gil Evans, who exerted considerable musical influence on him

Samuel Blaser

Born: July 20, 1981

Samuel Blaser is a 21st century trombonist. Born in 1981 in the town of La-Chaux-de-Fonds, Swizterland, he emerged professionally after graduating from conservatory in 2002. During the next five years he developed associations with the Vienna Art Orchestra and the European Radio Big Band, was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship, pursued graduate studies at the Purchase College Conservatory of Music, State University of New York, and recorded his first album as a leader, the Samuel Blaser Quartet’s 7th Heaven (Between The Lines). Since 2009 he has been based in Berlin.

The foundations of Blaser’s art are the breadth of his influences, his technical fluency, and the clarity with which he applies these assets. He grew up learning classical and Swiss folk music as well as jazz, and his projects include jazz-informed investigations of operatic, rock stead, and blues music. He understands that growth is relational, and has sought out and sustained relationships with veteran and senior musicians, such as Pierre Favre, John Hollenbeck, Gerry Hemingway, Marc Ducret, Paul Motian, Oliver Lake, and Daniel Humair, all of whom have helped him to develop his own sense of who he is. He exercises the full range of the trombone’s possibilities, including fluid melodic statements, emphatic rhythmic punctuations, earthy interjections, and abstract sound effects, with a clear sense of purpose. He approaches each endeavor as a leader and collaborator with a clear sense of purpose, knowing what he wants to accomplish and what each musical situation requires from him. Blaser’s responsiveness is never more evident than in his solo performances, which use his bold sound to draw out the qualities of both architectural and environmental settings.

The Chad Fisher Group

Chances are, audiences have seen the seven young men who comprise The Chad Fisher Group without even realizing it. From Chad Fisher and Gary Wheat backing The Temptations at Radio City Music Hall, to guitarist Steve Lewis' recent appearance on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, to jamming alongside Wynton Marsalis at a small club in their native city, the various members of the CFG are perpetually in the spotlight and are likely to turn up in any musical context, no matter the genre. This is why it is truly an event when these musicians share the stage together as The Chad Fisher Group.

Fisher, an established freelance trombonist, began the group as a straight-ahead jazz project but it quickly evolved into a unique musical experience, combining pure improvisation with original compositions and arrangements guaranteed to move the feet as well as the soul

Rick Parker

"Young trombonist Rick Parker is yet another powerful young jazz musician to be reckoned with." (Marc Meyers, All About Jazz) Since relocating to New York in August of 2001, Rick Parker has performed at several of the city’s major jazz clubs including Blue Note, Birdland, the Jazz Standard and the Jazz Gallery. His primary musical project, the Rick Parker Collective, is a critically acclaimed sextet that has been called "the best kept secret in New York right now."(All About Jazz) The group performs all original music at venues including Blues Alley, Somers Point Jazz Festival, Chris’s Jazz Café, Kavehaz, Knitting Factory, Cornelia Street Café and his first CD, New York Gravity, was released on the Fresh Sound New Talent record label in 2004
