William Gati Bom April 1O, 1959, in Rio Di Janeiro, Brazil Initially trained as a classical pianist (he studied at Juilliard from the age of 8), William Gati has been drawn to Jazz while studying with the great John Lewis (Modern Jazz Quartet). Born in Edinburgh in 1985, Zack completed a BA degree (with distinction) in music performance at the University of The Highlands and Islands before gaining an MMus in Musicology at the University of Edinburgh. He is currently working towards a PhD in music within the Institute for Music in Human and Social Development (IMHSD -University of Edinburgh) which is based on the improvement of music listening experiences for cochlear implant users. Dominic Lalli grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. He began studying music in middle school and high school with great support from his musical family. After high school, Dominic decided to continue his music education at Northern Arizona University. There, Dominic began a more focused study of music and began playing weekly trio gigs with world renowned bassist Joel Dibartolo (Tonight Show Band, Buddy Rich, Carmen McCrae) and, now, Chicago-based drummer Frank Rosaly. Alto saxophonist Tevet Sela brings a wealth and breadth of influences to his playing that few musicians possess. The adept and dexterous post bopper’s music is often drenched in heavy blues, klezmer and Middle-Eastern inflections. His music is full of wisdom, emotion and storytelling.

Tevet started his professional musical career while he was in his teens, frequently performing his original compositions and becoming a sought-after session player. He contributed his unique sound to TV and film soundtracks, and to numerous albums, including the multi-platinum ‘’Idan Raichel Project’’ album.

Perry Conticchio

Perry Conticchio ”Speak your Truth” Composer/Saxophonist Perry has been playing professionally along the East Coast for over 30 years. His formal studies were at Miami University of Ohio and Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he studied with Joe Viola, John LaPorta and Charlie Mariano. Moving to the Washington, DC area in 1976, Perry became an established figure in the "new" music scene. During this time, he had the opportunity to perform with and learn from Don Cherry, Anthony Braxton, Sam Rivers and many others. From 1994-1998 Perry led the successful jazz quartet "Clarity". Since then he has been directing his quartet and contributing on projects with many area bands, including the Thad Wilson Jazz Orchestra and the well-received jazz/funk trio, Bassment Breaks

Michael Adkins

MICHAEL ADKINS, a critically regarded jazz saxophonist and composer, began exploring improvised music within a creative Sarnia musical community at Lake Huron’s juncture with the St. Clair River, less than an hour from Detroit and a half-day drive from Chicago. Adkins was soon moving between Ontario, Michigan, New York, Boston, Europe, the Mississippi Delta, New Orleans, Chicago, and the Canadian and US West Coast, experiencing in each region jazz' multiple lineages and its ongoing evolution. Throughout his travels, Adkins has been particularly influenced by musical relationships formed with drummers. Among many others, these have included a critically acclaimed recording, international touring, and club performances with Ian Froman; New York City performances and two critically acclaimed recordings with Paul Motian; six recordings, sessioning, and performances in Boston, Memphis, Nashville, and New Orleans with Bob Moses, and five years of continuous sessioning and performances throughout the US Southeast with the late, legendary Alvin Fielder, who summarized Adkins playing in three words: “He can swing!” Fielder, a founding member of the Black Arts Music Society and the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM), who traveled as a stellar improviser between his natal Meridian, Mississippi and New Orleans, Houston, Chicago, New York, and the world, remains legendary for his musical contributions, dedication to jazz artistry, and devotion to his family's profound contributions to African American civil rights and to the musical legacy of his brother, trumpeter William Fielder. For Adkins, Alvin Fielder was a friend, musician, jazz historian, and mentor non pareil.

Iordache

Born:

Iordache was born in 1967 in Bucharest, Romania, and began playing saxophone in 1990. His first influences were Charlie Parker, Lee Konitz and Ornette Coleman. In the early 90's he played with Harry Tavitian's Blues Community. Between '96 and '99 he played with pianist Lucian Ban's Jazz Unit, then with bassist Vlaicu Golcea's Rebop Factory. In '99 he was asked to play alto with Orient Express, a 9-piece band led by pianist Harry Tavitian and recorded the album "Axis Mundi". After discovering Sun Ra and reading his biography by John Szwed, he started a band called "Outer Space Seven", a septet dedicated to Sun Ra's music
