Denis DiBlasio
After receiving his Master's Degree from The University of Miami, Denis DiBlasio joined the big band of legendary trumpeter Maynard Ferguson, serving as Maynard’s Musical Director for five years. During this time he honed his virtuosity on the baritone saxophone and flute as well as a prodigious scat-vocal technique, and developed estimable composing / arranging skills. His scores have been published by Kendor, William Allen, Kjos, Doug Beach, Hal Leonard. Houston, Jamey Aebersold and Roncorp Publications. He is currently Director of the Jazz Program at Rowan University, conducts Rowan’s Lab Band and holds the seat as the Executive Director of The Maynard Ferguson Institute of Jazz Studies at Rowan. As a clinician for the Yamaha Musical Corporation, DiBlasio has taught, performed and conducted all over the United States; his“education as entertainment”style has also taken him to Canada, Mexico, Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, Japan and Thailand

Kreston Smith
Born:
Kreston was born in Decatur, Alabama, but raised in Memphis for most of his life. He comes from a musical family whose legacy of talent lives on through him. He started playing piano at the age of 5 and later picked up the guitar and saxophone. His grandmother taught him his first song on piano, “Amazing Grace” at the age of five. Along with being the President and founder of the Bartlett Music Academy, he was the Jazz Band Director for Arlington High School for 2006-2007 and is the music director for Bolton United Methodist. Mitch Marcus founded the Mitch Marcus Quintet in 1999. From post-apocalyptic jazz to scintillating trance hypnotism, the Mitch Marcus Quintet delivers a unique brand of original music, taking you through a labyrinth of ever-shifting textures. Comprised of some of the New and SF Bay Area's finest musicians, this dynamic collective features the extended compositions of saxophonists Marcus and Sylvain Carton, as well as the rumbling opuses of drummer Ches Smith. The members of the Quintet also play in a diverse array of Bay Area bands, such as Donovan, Stanley, Trevor Dunn's Convulsant Trio, Good for Cows, Japonize Elephants, Realistic Orchestra, and Shotgun Wedding. West Coast members include Mike Abraham on Guitar and Jeff Marrs on Drums and our dear friend George Ban-Weiss on bass who recently passed on. East Coast members include Jeff Miles on Gutiar, Jerad Lippi on Drums, Evan Francis on Alto Sax and Flute, and Peter Brendler Bass.

Marco Chelo

Marco Chelo was born in Milan and raised in Rome.He moved to New York in 1995, where he performs and teaches saxophone. In addition to studying with Joe Solomon ( Lenny Tristano student) and Mike Longo ( Dizzy Gillespies' Musical Director), Marco has been tutored in contemporary music by David Keberle, professor of composition and music theory at the American University in Washington, D.C., and in jazz improvisation by Dr. Barry Harris, Clifford Jordan, and David Gross,and Marc Mommaas among others. In addition to playing sax Marco studies African drums, counterpoint, and composition. In 2009 Marc Mommaas and Marco Chelo founded the New York Jazz Workshop, an organization dedicated to promoting affordable jazz education in New York City. Marco has recorded 2 CD to date, the first one in 2009 a jazz album with the group "Il Collettivo" and the second in 2011 a collaboration with the Malian griot and songwriter Makane Kouyate and the Band Denbaya.

Saxophonist, educator and Fulbright Artist/Scholar Dimos Dimitriadis has been regarded as a “powerful, dynamic and unpredictable contemporary jazz saxophonist with a great sound” by “NEA Jazz Masters Award” recipient saxophonist Dave Liebman Dimos Dimitriadis cultivated his professional musical skills in the culture of US institutions like Berklee College of Music, and the New England Conservatory in Boston next to prominent jazz educators such as Joe Viola, George Garzone, Jerry Bergonzi, Hal Crook and others. Focusing on jazz, free improvisation and contemporary composition he shaped his personal musical vision during trips to Italy, France and Scandinavia, drawing inspiration from the diverse European cultures and the groundbreaking work of his mentors and friends soprano saxophonist Steve Lacy, and pianist Mal Waldron. Dr. Leo Casino

Mr. Casino has been in show business for the past 30 years. His musical training, beginning at the early age of nine, included work with such musical giants as Stanley Turrentine, Sy Morocco and George Benson in his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He received a full scholarship to the prestigious Howard University in Washington, D. C. The first Jazz Major in the United States, he studied under Donald Byrd and the great Quincy Jones. Miguel Zenon
Born:
A native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Miguel Zenón studied saxophone at the famed Escuela Libre de Musica; an institution that boasts distinguished alumnus throughout the musical world. Although Zenón listened to and explored the music of Charlie Parker and other jazz greats while in high school, it wasn't until he began his studies at the Berklee School of Music, where he received a scholarship from the Puerto Rico Heineken Jazz Festival, that his formal jazz training began.
Zenón excelled at Berklee and received the Berklee Best Scholarship Award, the Frederic Cameron Weber Award and a grant from the Corporation of Musical Arts while in attendance. It was also during this time that he became active in the Boston area jazz scene and gained professional experience with the drummer Bob Moses' Mozamba and the Either/Orchestra.

Jeff Darrohn

Born in Hampton Virginia, Jeff grew up near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In Philadelphia Jeff studied music at The Philadelphia College of the Performing Arts(now called University of the Arts) and received his Bachelor in Music and Music Education with a Jazz Minor. At The Philadelphia College of the Performing Arts he studied saxophone with William Zaccagni, flute with Adeline Tomasone, jazz theory with Larry McKenna and arranging/composition with Evan Solot. In ‘Philly’ Jeff pursued a career as a free-lance saxophonist both in the classical and jazz worlds. Being a woodwind doubler he was active in the theatres, supper clubs, cabarets, jazz clubs and recording studios in the Tri-State Area(Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware), Baltimore, Washington D.C
