Collin Sherman

Born:
Collin was born in 1979 in Lexington, Kentucky. Growing up in Louisville, he began playing saxophone in 4th grade at age 9. He attended Oberlin College (in Oberlin, Ohio) and Tulane Law School (in New Orleans, Louisiana). Collin moved to New York City in 2004, and played with a traditional jazz group on and off while practicing law. He began releasing his own recording in 2012. His early recording were in the ambient electronic vein, partly because the project was entirely self- produced and Collin did not have access to standard recording equipment. As he grew more comfortable recording and producing on his own, he gradually began incorporating his wind instruments (alto and soprano saxophone, Bb soprano and bass clarinet) into his recordings

Andy Lutkoff

Andy Lutkoff has been performing in SW Florida for over 25 years. He has performed with many of SW Florida’s top musicians including Joe Delaney, Jay Heavilin, Kevin Mauldin, Trimble McCullough, Doug Kirschner, Mickey Basil, Dave Morgan, Michael Baer, Tim Goodman, Brad Brown, and David Sarchet. In addition to leading various trios and quartets with the musicians above, Andy has lead the groups Straight Ahead and Saxdance. Both groups have been featured at Lee County Alliance of the Arts as well as at many venues in SW Florida. Andy is originally from NYC, but grew up in Richmond, Virginia

Sidney Hauser

Born:
Hailing from Whidbey Idland, Sidney received her BA in Fine Arts and a minor in Music Performance from the University of Washington. She has studied under local artists such as Neil Welch, Michael Brockman and Steve Treseler. She now plays lead alto in the Seattle Women’s Jazz Orchestra, second alto in the Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra and second alto in The Jazz Police. Additionally she plays in a prog rock group, a folk rock band and leads her own fusion group SmackTalk. When she’s not playing music or working full-time, she does commissioned artwork on the side.

After graduating from two of the most prestigious music schools, Berklee College of Music and Indiana University, he moved to New York City to continue his successful career as a jazz saxophonist. He currently leads his own quartet with prominent musicians of the contemporary jazz scene and collaborates with a myriad of bands of different jazz styles, with whom he plays both local and internationally.

Abshalom ben Shlomo (born November 11, 1943) is an Israeli-American jazz saxophonist. Ben Shlomo is best known for working under the iconic jazz keyboardist and bandleader Sun Ra throughout the 1970s. Abshalom ben Shlomo was born Virgil C. Pumphrey on November 11, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois. Ben Shlomo's first major exposure to the world of jazz came through the AACM, the esteemed Chicago arts institution. Earlier he had studied mainly under Chicago tenor sax great Joe Daley. Under his birth name Virgil Pumphrey, ben Shlomo had come to be viewed, along with a select group of musicians, as a key "first wave" participant in the AACM. Sun Ra Arkestra & Beyond Ben Shlomo first met Sun Ra by chance in Chicago as a teenager around 1960, becoming a Creative Tone Scientist with the Arkestra beginning in 1970

He received his Bachelor’s degree at the University Of Miami Frost School of Music and his Master’s degree at the University of Northern Colorado. He currently resides in Berlin, Germany. Born in Houston, Texas, Dustin Drews received his early education at the famed High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, whose jazz program was, during his time, under the direction of Robert “Doc” Morgan. Before furthering his studies at the University of Miami, where he received a full scholarship, Drews studied shortly with David Liebman
