An active member of the Ottawa, Canada music scene since receiving his Bachelor of Music in 2001 from Carleton University where he studied saxophone with Rob Frayne, Linsey Wellman is known as a creative and spontaneous improvisor on the alto and soprano saxophones, the alto and standard flutes, and the bass clarinet. Ever adaptable, he has plied his trade with Sun Ra tribute Rakestar Arkestra, marching band Mike Essoudry’s Mash Potato Mashers, Gamelan Semara Winangun, calypso outfit Kobo Town, Punjabi folk/fusion project Galitcha, and with avant-jazz outfit the Craig Pedersen Quartet, all while taking part in countless improvised music and jazz ensembles

I am currently a Seattle based Saxophonist. Growing up in Portland, OR, I began my musical training in jazz under the tutelage of Ben and Michelle Medler, founders of the Portland Youth Jazz Orchestra. I left my hometown to attend Northern Arizona University. While at NAU, I began to develop my classical performance. In 2006, I was named winner of the Northern Arizona University Concerto Competition. After graduation I returned to the Northwest to attend graduate school at University of Washington. Since receiving my Masters, I have been actively performing in and around Seattle, WA.

Jake Fryer
Jake has performed at Ronnie Scotts as part of the Brit Fest celebrating the clubs golden anniversary with the group the LJC. As well as playing Lead alto with the Four Tops he has played with Malene Mortensen at Soho's Pizza Express Jazz Club for the London Jazz Festival and headlined at the Duc des Lombards Jazz Club in Paris. His group are also featured in the BBC funded feature film ‘Nativity’ starring Alan Carr, Martin Freeman and Ricky Tomlinson.

John Berndt

John Berndt (born 1967) is a musician and organizer based in Baltimore, Maryland who is best known as an extended-technique experimental saxophonist and electronic musician. He participated in the second wave of the neoism cultural movement, the first wave having consisted of Monty Cantsin, Istvan Kantor, and Blaster Al Ackerman, amongst many others. Berndt's participation in Neoism began after the 1st eight Neoist Apartment Festivals (1980 to 1984) during the "64th International Neoist Apartment Festival" in 1986 in Berlin and subsequently in the "One Millionth" in New York City in late 1988 and the "13th" in Paris in 1994. Conceptual work by Berndt was shown at Documenta X, in Kassel, in 1997.

Steve Sacks

Saxophonist, flutist, composer and arranger Steve Sacks conveys a message of hope and peace through jazz which transcends the boundaries of genre. Born in Washington, D.C. in 1953, he grew up in Chicago and Connecticut. He began learning piano at age 7, and saxophone from age 13. After graduating Harvard with a B.A. summa cum laude in musicology, Steve moved to Paris for two years, then to New York City, where for twenty years he was active on the jazz, Brazilian, and Latin American musical scenes. He subsequently moved to Hong Kong for two years, and has lived in Tokyo, Japan since 1999. Steve has recorded on over 100 albums, including four as a leader of the New York-based Brazilian jazz groups "Guanabara" and "Trilogia"

Over the years I have played in a variety of bands covering such genres as rock, blues, funk and jazz. I have a BA Hons degree in jazz from Middlesex University and have taught privately for several years. Also I recently started teaching at the Allegro Music Academy. I have ABRSM certificates in jazz (grade 5: merit) and classical (grade 6: merit). I have a working knowledge of the keyboard, to aid explanation of scale resources and note choice. I have also studied techniques by many jazz educators such as Mark Levine, Dan Haerle, Hal Crook and Dave Liebman. I have a sound working knowledge of the Sibelius computer programme.
