Damian J Sanchez, biography July 19, 2016 A Miami native by way of Pinar del Rio, Cuba, Damian J Sanchez remembers the “Magic City” amidst the 1990s onslaught of Cuban refugees and enduring his teenage years in one of Miami's roughest neighborhoods, Little Havana. His musical journey commenced at the age of 12. He began by learning music theory before picking up an instrument with Jon Hamm at Citrus Grove Middle School and later guitar, piano, oboe, and saxophone from Mr. Hamm and band director, Carlos A. Francesco Salomoni approached flute at age 8, soon switching on guitar. During the years he spent in Cremona, Italy, he had his first classical education and became a name in the local music scene. After moving to Rome he fell in love with the trombone "my prison and my joy" he likes to say. He had a classical education on trombone attending conservatory and studying with Maurizio Persia, bass trombone of the Accademia Nazionale di S.Cecilia. Although he enjoyed very much studying with Maestro Persia, he was looking for something more, something that he found during his first experience at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA

Bob Davis was born in Cosmos, Minnesota in 1927. By the age of 18, Davis was playing improvisational jazz with some of the greats. His styles were ahead of his time. Jazz greats such as Stan Kenton & Count Basie had looked at Davis as one of the greatest jazz pianists of the time. He recorded 3 great albums. Bob Davis played & recorded with such artists as Sarah Vaughn, Al Hirt, Dizzy Gillespie... He also was musical director for Playboy Clubs, taught as a music college & high school professor,and was a promoter and agent for music giants such as the Jacksons and Tina Turner. He then continued playing jazz and ballads in concerts and clubs into his older years. He lived most of his life in Miami, Florida

I collaborated with the great Tito Puente as arranger/keyboardist on a number of award winning Latin Jazz albums including Goza Mi Timbal a.k.a. Dig My Timbales (Grammy & American Film Institute awards 1990), Out of This World (AFIM award 1991), Mambo of the Times (AFIM award 1992) along with Master Timballero, The Billy Strayhorn Songbook and Hot Timbales
