Lucas began his piano studies at a very early age at Toronto’s Royal Conservatory of Music. During his classical training he participated in the “101 Pianists” concert led by pianist Lang Lang at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto. When he was 11, Lucas enrolled in the Humber College Community Music School, an innovative program in youth jazz education started by pianist Oscar Peterson.
