JOHN KRANTZ plays straight ahead jazz standards in the Des Moines, Iowa area usually in piano/bass duo format.  After a career in the family business, John returned  to performing regularly in 2006 with a nine year stint at Sam and Gabe's Italian Bistro.  He appears regularly at several Des Moines establishments and private events including monthly at The Des Moines Embassy Club.   John was inducted in the CJC Jazz Hall of Fame in 2024 for his many contributions to the local JAZZ Community, including spearheading the annual Jazz In July at Hoyt Sherman Place, booking local jazz musicians and performing himself
