Dave Tiede
Dave holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the University of Northern Iowa. During his years of study at UNI, Dave studied under Tom Giampietro, Randy Hogancamp, Chris Merz, and Bob Washut. While maintaining an active performance schedule, Dave has performed with an array of artists and groups. From 2005-2007 he was a member of the award winning UNI Jazz Band One with whom he recorded two albums: “Destination Unknown,” and “Renovation.” Most recently, he has released an album with his quintet, Group X, titled “Kick the Can.” On this album, Dave has written two compositions inspired by modern-day jazz, rock, funk, and hip-hop groups. In addition to Jazz Band One, he has performed with: Kenny Werner, Dick Oatts, Cuong Vu, Clark Terry, Bobby Shew, Rex Richardson, Corey Christiansen, Sam Salamone, Jeff Coffin, the UNI Faculty Jazz Ensemble, the UNI Faculty Tentet, Ants or Giants, and Group X. Along with performing, Dave teaches drum set and percussion in the Twin Cities area

Robby Ameen

Grammy Award-winning drummer Robby Ameen has been living in New York City since the early eighties and has compiled a recording career stretching from Dizzy Gillespie to Paul Simon, while maintaining a more than twenty year relationship with Latin icon Ruben Blades as a member of Seis del Solar. Although he is of Lebanese origin, Robby is best known for the unique and powerful Afro-Cuban jazz style he has developed. Growing up in New Haven, Connecticut, Robby was able to take advantage of his proximity to New York City by going to clubs and hearing many of the great jazz masters at a very young age

Dave Mohn
Born:
Dave comes from a family of drummers. His dad, uncle and grandfather were all drummers. He had sticks in his hands from the time he could hold them and there were always drums around the house. Dave's Dad gave him his first snare at 7 and he began to learn what it took to be a drummer. Dave studied with his dad, Harry; uncle, Don; with Getz/Byrd drummer/teacher, Buddy Deppenschmidt and majored in percussion at Trenton State College(now The College of New Jersey) He also had the distinct good fortune to become acquainted with jazz drummer Jack DeJohnette when Jack lived in West Amwell NJ. His philosophies on the art of drumming and his techniques were truly inspirational. Along with writing & teaching rudimentally for Drum Corps and for high school drum lines, Dave has taught for the Community Conservatory of , Doylestown School of Music & Bucks County Community College and is currently devoting teaching time to private students. A varied musical career has always included the broad category of jazz as a first love working with great jazz players such as Dennis DiBlasio, Richie Cole, Charles Fambrough, Steve Varner, Daryl Hall, Urbie Green, Mark Kramer, Arnie Lawrence, Barry Sames, Randy Reinhardt, Jim Ridl, Nelson Hill, Lenny Argese, Bob Devos, Ron Kerber, Ron McClure, Brian Trainor, Chico Huff, Andrew Neu, Matthew Parrish, John Bianculli, Glenn McClelland & Eric Mintel. orn in Beirut 1978, his passion for rhythm was revealed in his early years. By the age of 9 he was playing the Darbouka (an Arabic percussion instrument) and was acquainted with the essence of the traditional Arabic music. 1990 - 1993 he performed with several Arabic singers as a side man. Later on he was attracted to drums as an instrument with a wider percussive range and tracking its traces he crossed the border of oriental music towards the western musical world. 1996 he started taking private drum lessons. Jake Burton

Jake Burton began drumming "formally" at the age of 7, although he had a drum kit as early as age three. In college, Jake obtained a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering while studying drums and symphonic percussion with St. Louis Symphony veteran Tom Stubbs. Following college, Jake enrolled in the prestigious Drummer's Collective School of Music in New York City, excelling in the Advanced Performance Program. Jake has taught both privately and at the community college level since 1999. Kevin Stevenson

Born in Cleveland,Ohio, Kevin’s earliest musical influences were jazz greats like John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Count Basie and Nat King Cole. At a young age, Kevin took drum lessons from his uncle, Leon Stevenson and played clarinet in junior high. In college, he pursued music while attending the University of Cincinnati. Later, while playing locally in Cleveland, he decided to relocate to New York City in May of 1979. It was here that Kevin began to study with master drummers Michael Carvin and Jim Payne. He has worked with Cecil Bridgewater, South African musician Tony Cedras, Me'Shell N'Degeocello, actor Mario VanPeebles, Alvin Slaughter, Mark Ledford, Black Rock Coalition Orchestra w/guitarist Vernon Reid, Bill White, Michael Osborn, Arturo O'Farrill, Lafayette Harris, Dave Anderson, various Broadway/Off-Broadway productions and the multi- Grammy-winning Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir
