John Luther Adams

Lauded by the New Yorker's Alex Ross as “one of the most original musical thinkers of the new century,” John Luther Adams draws inspiration from the natural world for his ambitious, large-scale compositions; these include Inuksuit, Sila, and the Pulitzer Prize-winning Become Ocean, which in 2015 won the Grammy award for Best Contemporary Classical Composition. Adams composes for orchestra, chamber ensembles, percussion and electronic media, and his music has been released on various independent labels, including Cold Blue, New World, Mode, New Albion and Cantaloupe Music. A recipient of the Heinz Award for his contributions to raising environmental awareness, Adams has also been honored with the Nemmers Prize from Northwestern University “for melding the physical and musical worlds into a unique artistic vision that transcends stylistic boundaries.” JLA's music is heard regularly all over the world

Robert Sadin has produced some of the most interesting albums of recent times. His latest project is Art of Love - Music of Machaut (Deutsche Grammophon): Songs of the 14th century drenched in the sounds of Brazil, Africa, jazz, and great singer-songwriters. An extraordinary array of contemporary artists reinterpret and reinvent the music of the great 14th-century French composer and poet, Guillaume de Machaut. Grammy®-winning arranger and producer Robert Sadin has conceived an album which blurs boundaries and crosses centuries. If on a Winter’s Night…, featuring Sting, explores the winter season grounded in the sounds of northern England, and encompasses music ranging from Henry Purcell to Appalachian folk songs to Sting’s original work. Gershwin’s World, featuring Herbie Hancock with guest artists Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell and the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, won three Grammy Awards. Alegria, featuring Wayne Shorter in a repertoire which includes Shorter’s compositions, a folk song, a medieval hymn and Villa Lobos’ Bachianas Brasileiras #5 in which Shorter shared the leading role with cellist Charles Curtis (Curtis is a featured artist on Art of Love), won three Grammy Awards. So Many Stars, featuring Kathleen Battle with guest artists Grover Washington, Cyrus Chestnut and Cyro Baptista, included spirituals, folk songs and music of Brazil. Conqueror, featuring the legendary Clark Sisters with guest artist Melle Mel, was the first gospel album to include rap. Robert has appeared as guest conductor with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, The London Symphony Orchestra, and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra

La Monte Young

La Monte Young is an American avant-garde artist, composer and musician, generally recognized as the first minimalist composer. His works are cited as notable examples of post-war avant-garde, experimental, and contemporary music. Young is especially known for his exploration of drone music. Born October 14, 1935 in a log cabin in Bern, Idaho, La Monte went to high school in Los Angeles. During this time he played saxophone in a group with Billy Higgins, Dennis Budimir and Don Cherry and with various other musicians. To continue his education, he relocated to Berkeley, where he met life long friend and collaborator Terry Riley

Lisa Maxwell's Jazz Orchestra

Lisa Maxwell has composed, arranged, orchestrated, produced, and conducted music for small combos, horn sections, strings, big band and full orchestra. Part of the Emmy Award-winning music team for Warner Bros., Lisa was an orchestrator on all 52 episodes of Histeria! animated series, and Animaniacs: Wakko's Wish feature film. Her original music has been licensed for TV shows including: Sons of Anarchy, Person of Interest, Dexter, Burn Notice, Four Weddings, Gravity. Currently, Lisa is preparing to release her debut big band album, Shiny! Dedicated to legendary trumpeter Lew Soloff, it features Randy Brecker and an all-star band playing her charts. As a sax player, Lisa led the horn sections on the Guns 'n' Roses Use Your Illusion world tour and Spinal Tap tour
