Mandy Chan

Born: June 8, 1988

Mandy Chan is a vocalist, composer, arranger and bandleader who continuously pursues excellence in music. Mandy Chan’s repertoire includes jazz, Latin, folk, and pop, sung in Mandarin, English, Cantonese, Teochew dialect, Taiwanese, Spanish or French. From traditional to modern, from popular to avant-garde, from China to international crossover world music, she embraces all styles and genres of beautiful music. Mandy has been performing throughout China and working with various musicians from across the globe, such as French vibraphonist Benoit Stasiaczyk, pianist Cedric Hanriot, Luxembourgish pianist Marc Mangen, Latin percussionist Gerardo Rosales, and Dutch jazz saxophonist Dick de Graaf. At her young age, her talent and love of music were noticed and her family sent her to formal vocal training where she studied Traditional Chinese singing with Cai Laiyou

Igor Kogan

Born: July 29

Igor Kogan is a jazz artist, bassist, composer and bandleader. He has performed at prestigious venues and festivals in U.S., Canada and Europe, including Jazz at Lincoln Center and Steinway Hall (New York), Bern Jazz Festival (Switzerland), Toronto Music Festival (Canada), Red Sea Jazz Festival (Israel); and appeared at renowned jazz clubs Smalls, Zinc, Fat Cat (New York); Herb Alpert’s Vibrato, Blue Whale, Vitellos, The Lighthouse (Los Angeles) among other venues.

Born in Nizhniy Novgorod, Russia, he started to play violin at age 7. He immigrated to Israel at the age of 15 where he simultaneously pursued his interest in music and science, and started to play bass and compose music

Gorm Askjær

Born: October 5, 1980

Gorm Askjær is a guitarist and composer living in Aarhus, Denmark. He has a background in jazz and improvised music, but is currently working with both classically trained as well as improvising musicians, trying not to get to much caught up in speculations about genres.

His music is adventourous and creates many different soundworlds, while maintaining a personal focus and tone. Compositions are written both for his own bands or individual projects, as well as comissions from others.

Current bands include Gorm Askjær Trio and Gorm Askjær Secret Safari.

Besides his own music Gorm is also teaching and is involved in different kinds of cultural and artistic projects, arranging concerts etc.

Mike Caudill

Born: November 15, 1991

Mike Caudill is a Boston-based saxophonist, composer, arranger, and educator.

A member of several projects performing across New England and New York, Mike leads his own bands, plays saxophone and electric wind instrument in the jazz-fusion group City of Four, and performs in Felipe Salles’ Interconnections Ensemble, among other groups. Mike has played in historic spaces, ranging from Boston’s Symphony Hall to jazz venues like Sculler’s, Regattabar, NYC’s Birdland, Dizzy’s Club, and The Jazz Gallery. Mike writes for a variety of ensembles, including saxophone quartets, big bands, and orchestras, and his compositions have been performed internationally.

Candice Tugby

Born: August 23, 1995

Candice Tugby is a Jazz musician, composer, arranger, and educator from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Candice graduated with a Bachelor of Jazz (Trumpet) Degree from the University of Manitoba's Desautels Faculty of Music's Jazz Studies Program where she has had the opportunity to study with Derrick Gardner, Steve Kirby, Quincy Davis, Jon Gordon, Larry Roy, Will Bonness, and Anna-Lisa Kirby. She has performed at local venues such as the Lyric Theatre, CCFM, The Berney Theatre, Sam's Place, Joe Black's Coffee Shop, Resto Gare, The King's Head Pub, The Orbit Room, and The Palm Lounge where she has had the opportunity to perform with many talented local and international musicians. More recently, Candice played in New York City at several different venues including with the Anna-Lisa Kirby quintet at Small's Jazz Club and Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks at The Iguana. Candice is in the process of creating content for an album to be released in the near future.

Joanna Wallfisch

Described by Downbeat Magazine as "an exquisite singer-songwriter", Joanna's music conveys a beauty of a many-coloured sort that speaks to straight to the human condition. Her songs reveal personal truths about love, loss, adventure, home and hope. World Music Report described it as "quintessential heart-music by a vocalist who seems to have connected with the deepest recesses of her being emerging into brightness again with songs of haunting beauty."​

Harrison Argatoff

Harrison Argatoff is a Canadian tenor saxophonist and composer based in Toronto. A 2018 graduate of The University of Toronto’s jazz program, his music combines the study of jazz, classical, and free-improvised music to to cultivate a versatile, controlled, yet distinctly personal sound. Having grown up a Doukhobour, in the interior of British Columbia, teachings of pacifism, communal music making, and respect for life and nature deeply influence his personal and artistic endeavours.

César Cardoso

Born: November 10, 1982

Born in 1982, in Leiria, soon dedicated his time to studying music, with only 7 years old.From 2004 to 2008 he studied at Hot Clube de Portugal’s Jazz School, where he had lessons with Jorge Reis and Pedro Moreira and started to distinguish himself as a jazz musician. In 2008 he enrolled at Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, where he continued to work with Jorge Reis e Pedro Moreira, having completed the Jazz Bachelor Degree in saxophone performance.César is a member of the dixieland group Desbundixie, with whom he recorded “Kick’n Blow” (in 2007) e “Up 2 Nine” (in 2009), this last one with Maria João in vocals and Filipe Melo at the piano as special guests.He is the mentor and artistic director of Orquestra Jazz de Leiria, a big band which gathers Leiria’s jazz community and has given a set of concerts with Portuguese artists as special guests, such as Vânia Fernandes, David Fonseca, Maria João, Herman José, Luísa Sobral, Áurea, Tiago Bettencourt, Pedro Abrunhosa, Ana Bacalhau, Camané, Sara Tavares, António Zambujo, Jorge Palma and Simone de Oliveira.In 2010, César recorded his first debut CD, “Half Step”, with the musicians Bruno Santos, Filipe Melo, Demian Cabaud and Bruno Pedroso, his quintet at that time. The album also features Pedro Moreira as special guest and was presented at Marinha Grande’s Jazz Festival. Migiwa Miyajima

Born: June 17, 1974

Hailing from Japan, composer, producer, pianist, and bandleader of the 17-piece Miggy Augmented Orchestra, Migiwa “Miggy” Miyajima creates large-scale works manifesting her distinct life experiences. Birdland Jazz Club says, “Miyajima’s music reflects her journey as a musician and humanitarian.” Formerly editor-in-chief of a magazine in Japan, Miyajima trusted the power of music and became a full-time musician at the age of 30. In four years, the Grammy-winning Vanguard Jazz Orchestra found her and brought her two Grammy nominations as its associate producer for “Forever Lasting- Live in Tokyo” and “Over Time: Music of Bob Brookmeyer.” After surviving the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, Miyajima received a Japanese government grant and a Japan-U.S
