Igor Gehenot

The pianist Igor Gehenot started classical piano studies from an early age. At 13 he enters the jazz section of the royal academy of Liège and at 19 the conservatory of Maastricht. He enters the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in 2009 for two years, where he studies among others with Eric Legnini, and starts his own trio with Sam Gerstmans on double bass and drummer Teun Verbruggen. The trio led by Igor Gehenot won the Sabam’s youth jazz award in 2011. The recognition was justified. The pianist, born in 1989, has progressively established himself as a major talent on the Belgian and European scenes. After recording the first album «Road Story» (Igloo New talents, 2012), Igor toured extensively in Belgium and elsewhere (Jazz A Vienne, Mexico Festival…). In 2014, he presented the new album «Motion», still featuring Verbruggen on drums but with Philippe Aerts as the new partner on double bass

Sabin Todorov

Born:
Sabin Todorov was born in Bulgaria in 1966, and is a graduate of the Sofia conservatory, where he took music theory and harmony. He then studied further at the Brussels conservatory with Nathalie Loriers, Diederik Wissels and Arnould Massart. A talented composer and arranger, he appears in Belgium for several years, his trio OUSTRO OUKO and Lionel Beuvens. His music integrates musical influences from his home country, Bulgaria. For more than 3 years too, he is regular pianist of the Singers Nights at the Music Village in Brussels, bringing to the singers, not only his talent, but also his fantastic capability to listen, his calm and his exceptional kindness. He appeared in duo with singers such as Geneviève Fraselle, Marianna Tootsie, etc... He was the accompanyist for the Brussels International Young Jazz Singers Competition, organized by the Music Village.

Jean-Paul Estiévenart

Within a 15-years career, Jean-Paul Estiévenart had the opportunity to meet and play with several big names in the international jazz scene : Enrico Pieranuzzi, Nathalie Loriers, Avishai Cohen - trumpet, Logan Richardson, Eric Legnini, Dré Pallemaerts, Joe Lovano, Noel Gallagher, the Brussels jazz Orchestra, Perico Sambeat, Maria Schneider, ...). He has been playing in a dozen Belgian bands as sideman and is now touring with Antoine Pierre URBEX, Alex Koo Quartet, Mik Maak, Steven Delannoye Brandhaard, Manu Hermia Freetet, Jazz Station Big Band, God Save The Swing, Marco Locurcio Group, Filippo Bianchini quintet and his own projects : his trio and his quintet

Joe Higham

Born:
Tenor, alto and soprano saxophones, B flat clarinet After studying sculpture at the Brighton College of Art & Design he went to the CAT in Newcastle (now the Newcastle University) where he graduated in Light Music (nowadays called jazz). Several years later, whilst visiting friends and playing concerts in Brussels (1988), he discovered that the Brussels Conservatory was opening a new jazz section and decided to follow the courses -4 years- given by Belgian musicians such as Steve Houben, Jean Louis Rassinfosse and Bruno Castellucci, ending up with a first prize in saxophone and a diploma in Jazz Studies. Whilst at the Brussels Conservatory, he naturally became involved in the Brussels jazz scene, playing with many of the local musicians who were heavily centered around two places 'Travers' and 'The Kaai'

Steven Delannoye
Born:
Steven graduated in 2006 at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven in the jazz department, where his teacher was Frank Vaganée. He was also taught by John Ruocco, Ben Sluijs and Tony Malaby, and he took workshops with Phil Woods, Dave Liebman, Bob Mintzer, Bill Carrothers, etc. Steven is soprano-, alto- and tenorsaxophone player in his own trio and his quartet Sammy's On The Bowery. As a sideman he worked with the free-jazz trio: Mopti, Peter Hertmans Sextet, Louis Favre Group (a group of the French drummer Favre), MuchoGusto Bigband, Tuesdaynight Orchestra, Free Breathing Ensemble and Phusionculture. He freelances in the young Belgian jazz scene with colleges on different occasions in clubs

AL GRANATO discovered the accordion at the age of 8, which he played till he got fourteen. At that age he went over to pop and rock music, and started playing keyboards At his eighteenth he turned back to his old love: the accordion, and this time for good. Started as a street musician, this guy is one of the genuine braves who knows the price of loving one's art and living for it ! After this « hard but rich journey», he has discovered the pleasure to appear on stage (or in recording sessions) with many artists from all over the world. Dalton Drum Syndicate
Dalton Drum Syndicate is a 4-drummers band based in Brussels, Belgium. DDS was founded in 1999. After having jammed on a drum event in a music shop, three of the actual drummers decided to work out something for real. The band members of DDS all have different musical backgrounds. Each one of them provided a whole lot of different rhythmic ideas. After having worked on these ideas, they became original compositions, with influences of any musical style you can think of. Collaborations with guest-performers such as Dancers, DJs and VJs took place, and more will follow in the future. DDS performes @ a lot of festivals such as: Marktrock Leuven, Rhythm Sticks London (UK), Cape Breton international Drum Festival (Canada),Tambours de fête Charleville (France),MTV night Belgium, Gentse Feesten, Paulusfeesten, Couleur café festival, Midi Minuit, Euritmix grand place Brussels, Fête de la musique, Halles de Schaerbeek, Percufolas Le Muy (France), DDS also featered in several TV broadcasts (Canal+, Event TV, MTV, VTM).

Reza Labani was baptized in Iranian classical music ever since his early childhood. After studying the violin, he discovered the Tombak, also named Zarb. His father, a competent musicologist, taught him about the great masters, but Reza was soon following his own direction. He had the chance, on several occasions, to keep the most important musicians of his country company and as he goes back to Iran frequently, he has the chance to buy his instruments at the best factories of Teheran.
