Hamilton Sterling began playing electric bass in elementary school. He was very fortunate to have had committed music teachers in a time when music and art were funded in the public schools. He attended Dick Grove Jazz workshops over two summers, studying with Carol Kaye. Hamilton played bass in the Young Sounds Jazz Ensemble, an all-star big band founded by the Phoenix Musician’s Union, and entered the Allstate Orchestra as Principal Bassist his senior year. While in high school he performed with professional jazz ensembles that included Lewis Nash, Theresa Dimond, Joseph Tapia, Dick Weller, and Charlie Argersinger, and later with Allan Chase, Keith Miles, Ted Goddard, Charles Lewis, Prince Shell, Francine Reed, Dave Cook, and Tom Ferguson.

Ray is also a staff writer for Bass Musician Magazine and is a columnist for Talkbass.com's "ask a pro" section. As a clinician, Ray has performed and demonstrated his concepts to students throughout the United States & Europe at events such as Bass Day - LA, The National Guitar Summer Workshop, The San Francisco Bass Weekend, The School of Bass in AZ and Bass Day New York 2001 which also featured Victor Wooten, Steve Bailey, Matt Garrison, Mike Pope and Christian McBride. Ray was also part of the ZON Ultimate Bass Concert in Berkley CA with Michael Manring, Todd Johnson and Damian Erskine. Riendeau is also acknowledged for his contributions alongside highly- revered guitarists such as Alex Machacek, Nat Janoff, John 5, Derek Taylor, Greg Koch, Gary Hoey, Jeff Kollman, Scott Mishoe, Ron Jarzombek, Pat Lachman, Mike Chlasciak, Neil Zaza, Curtis Reid & Rob Popescu. Riendeau assisted in the research and development of Sunn bass amps and the Fender Bassman series combo amps for Fender Musical Instruments

Jair-Rohm Parker Wells (October 13, 1958) is an American free jazzbassist(bass guitar and electric upright bass), composer and conceptualist. Heis oneof the founding members of the improvising band Machine Gun whichfeatured Thomas Chapin. Resident in Stockholm, Sweden since 1985,he hasbeen active internationally as a promoter of improvised and experimentalmusic performing and recording extensively. He has collaborated withKarlBerger, Daniel Carter and Tony Scott among others.
Raised in southernGermany, Jair-Rohm moved to New York in 1978. After touring theUnitedStates for a year with a top forty band he attended Tulane University inNewOrleans. While at Tulane, he regularly performed with local jazz andrhythmand blues artists. He also performed as a member of Tulane University'sTulanians, met and studied with Richard Payne (the first person torecord withthe electric bass) and discovered the music of Harry Partch. He returnedtothe New York area in the fall of 1980 where he met and started workstudyunder saxophonist/composer Ken Simon. During this period Jair- Rohmalsomet Anthony Braxton and became involved in the study of his music. In1982Jair-Rohm founded his own experimental music/theater group GLASSTHOUGHT THEATER ENSEMBLE. Between 1982 and 1983 he wascomposer inresidence at the New York Theater Ensemble (New York, N.Y.) wherehe wroteand produced a trilogy of progressive”operas”. He received a MEET THECOMPOSER grant in 1983. From 1984 - 1985 he was resident in NewJerseywhere he continued composing and playing the bass. He was a foundingmember of the New Brunswick Jazz Musician's Collective (NewBrunswick,N.J.) for which he composed and performed many significant works forvarious ensembles.

David Dyson
Born in Rapid City, South Dakota on April 3, 1965, David Dyson relocated to Washington, D.C. with his parents at an early age of two. He began his education in D.C. public schools, later moving to the metropolitan Washington area and attending Maryland public schools. During this period, David played baritone (euphonium) in school and in county orchestras earning superior ratings on his instrument. After hearing recordings of Larry Graham and Louis Johnson, the desire to switch to the bass was overwhelming. At age 12, David's parents presented him with a beginner's bass guitar. Excelling rapidly, he eventually achieved the "outstanding bandmember" award during his high school senior year
