Louis de Mieulle

Paris born bassist-composer Louis de Mieulle started his musical education at 7, playing the cello. Rebellion through rock’n’roll bass guitar. Eventually graduated from the National Conservatory of Paris (classical writing). In 2006, won a composition contest in Tours (Fr) with the opera “Tres Para Una”, co-written with Augustin d’Assignies and Edward Greaves. Moved to the Land of Donald to attend the Berklee College of Music. Now between NYC leading his own band, and France as a member of Moonsüün. 2011: first solo album “Defense Mechanisms”. Recorded in Brooklyn with Berklee comrades Matt Garstka (drums) and Casimir Liberski (piano)

Bass player/Composer, born in Cercola in 1985, under the sign of Leo. As a child he comes into contact with the music through the family enviroment. Neverthless he takes an interest in playing the bass only in his late teens. He begins as a self-taught, but later decides to improve his studies at the 'OrangeBug Accademy' under the guidance of Diego Imparato, he also takes part to the courses of ensamble music with Luca Gianquitto and Gianluca Brugnano. Crucial is the acquaintance with the young singer- songwriter, Gabriele Aprile. Together with him and with his cousin and music fellow, Vincenzo Di Girolamo, co-founds the group 'April Fools' in 2004

Baba Liron is a great soul, a wonderful bassist and a man who can be relied on to speak his mind in truth, honesty and no malice. He joined the band in 2005 and has made a most significant contribution! Born Patrick Enos Lukhachi Nanjero, in Nairobi on 8 October 1980, Ricky is a great lover of all things musical, laughter and ugali or busuma. Ernest Barteldes

Born in Muskegon, Michigan, Ernest Barteldes started out playing in rock bands in Fortaleza, Brazil. Though his first instrument was the clarinet, he gravitated to guitar and percussion but eventually settled on the electric bass. Over the years he played various genres, and after relocating to New York he started performing with a Beatles tribute band. After that project came to an end, he experimented with a blues duo (playing guitar) and then retreated from the music scene for several years except for a weekly gig at The Church of Our Lady of Pompeii, where he still performs every Sunday. While away from the stages, Ernest went behind the scenes and built a career as a music critic covering jazz, Latin, Brazilian and dance for various publications, including AAJ He always had a passion for Brazilian music, and after a friend suggested forming a bossa band, he threw himself into this new project as bassist, vocalist and songwriter.

Additional performance experience includes the National Touring Company of Grease; regional productions of Pump Boys and Dinettes, Ten November, Beehive, and other small- and large- scale musicals; and numerous performances with local and regional jazz, blues, and pop groups

Jerry Jemmott

Born in the Bronx, New York in 1946, this two time Grammy Award-wining bassist was one of the pre-eminent session bassists of the late 1960s and early 1970s, working with an impressive cross section of the era's finest soul, jazz and blues artists. One of the youngest of the many jazz musicians to come out the Bronx during the 1950s, Jerry Jemmott found his way to prominence on acoustic bass with Pucho & The Latin Soul Brothers and the Mercer Ellington Orchestra. He switched to electric bass in 1964 and shaped his skills to eventually join many of his heroes in the recording studios of New York City. He played on and arranged his first major recording sessions with JJ Jackson and played on Nina Simone's 'The Blues' album in 1965. He got his big break when he was discovered by Rhythm 'n Blues/Jazz saxophonist King Curtis, and thanks to his Atlantic Records connection through Curtis he subsequently became a key architect of the Atlantic Records and Muscle Shoals Sound. Jerry has been a performer since the age of five, starting as a tap dancer with Mary Bruce’s Star Buds, in Harlem, where he performed at Carnegie Hall in their annual review

Velvet Voyage is a jazz based group fluent in many styles. After forming in 2009, Vincent Veith (piano), Ivan George (drums) and Darren Frate (bass) released their self titled cd ”Velvet Voyage”. That cd featured all original tracks with guest artists Jamey Haddad (percussion for Paul Simon) and Bobby Selvaggio (sax). In 2010 the group added woodwind player Dave Kasper to the lineup and released their second cd “Dysfunction Junction” which featured guitarist Mike Stern (Miles Davis, Jaco Pastorius) on the track “Saho”. Velvet Voyage has toured throught the country and is currently working on their third release

Jeff Bernstein has been playing bass for 50 years, and has performed in a number of jazz, fusion and classic rock groups and big band jazz ensembles. A native of Brooklyn, New York, he now calls Atlanta home. His influences are Jaco Pastorius, Jimmy Haslip, Lee Ritenour, Leland Sklar, and others. He has performed over the years on numerous commercials and studio sessions, and performed live across the NY metro area's venues.
