Musician

Angie Contini

Angie Contini is a performer and songwriter living in Sydney, with a diverse background in music, dance, theatre, and cabaret. While working as a jazz and blues singer, she has gradually developed a repertoire that reflects on the forms of swing, blues, gospel, and vaudeville. With a lyrical style that both embraces and augments these genres, Angie’s music is a foray into jungle-juice swing, haunting melancholy, observational mania, matters of the heart and delectable story-telling. Angie’s performances and recordings feature a fine selection of Sydney jazz musicians who are formidable performers in their own right, including Leonie Cohen (piano), Stan Valacos (double bass), Matt Baker (piano), Nigel date (guitar), Adrian Cunningham (sax/clarinet), Mark Howard (double bass, Matt Gruebner(double bass) and Tim Bradley (drums). Song Credits include: ‘Picnic in the Cemetery’
