Cecilia Wennerstr: Stuck Zipper
Joining the group for this session is Ellekari Larsson, who sings on four tracks with a cute girlish nasal timbre that is quite engaging. It's on one of the vocal tracks, "If You", that Wennerström engages in dissonant playing, even employing a timely squeak now and then in support of Larsson's nonsense syllable purring. Larsson also delivers an impassioned rendition of "Love Me or Leave Me". It's also on another vocal track where the Australian Aboriginal didgeridoo appears, which to me sounds like a kazoo.

With this release, Wennerström demonstrates that she has gained a place among those relatively few practitioners of the big instrument who have given it a formidable presence in progressive jazz. bands. Visit her Internet site at www.wela.nu.
