LTJ Bukem feat. MC Conrad: Progression Session 6 - America Live
What can one say about the Progression Session series that hasn’t already been said? Consistently feeding the needs of ardent fans of atmospheric drum & bass, the dynamic partnership of LTJ Bukem and MC Conrad continues to deliver. America Live 2001 throws an extra twist on the already successful compilation series. This installment was recorded live from The Rinse @ The Roxy in Boston. The mix captures a little of the electric live vibe that the duo produce with Conrad’s slithering flow hyping up both the crowd and your living room. He knows when to use the mic and when to let the tracks breathe and sink into the crowd, providing a complement to the music and not overwhelming it. Two of Conrad’s own tracks are included – the uplifting "Futures Call" and the aptly titled "Energetic Poetry," punctuated by Bukem’s sound manipulation that highlights Conrad’s ability. It is this fluid partnership between the two which makes them an artistic entity, rather than simply a DJ and MC. America Live showcases this effectively whilst delivering ten choice tracks. Bukem keeps the transitions smooth and the mood consistent with intelligent programming including standouts from Makoto ("Inside Your Love") and Nookie ("Solstice"). Volume 6 takes the series to the next level.
