I was around 3 1/2 when our family went to see Gene Krupa's big band in San Francisco where I was born. My dad was the top DJ in SF at the time and a great promoter, so, that's why you see me banging away so seriously. Krupa proved to be my first major influence as a drummer. 6 months later another buddy of my father's, Linoel Hampton, gave me my first set of drums. I was a luck kid for sure.
