Roots and World Music Festival in Cabot, VT Features Jazz Criminals, Oumou Sangare, Barrington Levy, Toubab Krewe, Midnite, and Earle “Chinna" Smith

Discounted Weekend Presale Tickets Available For Just $65 through 7/6

From July 17-19, The Manifestivus (the 7th Annual Sol Harvest Festivus for the Restivus) in Cabot, Vermont will host danceable roots, world and jazz acts from all over the world.

The Manifestivus is held on 93 acres of breathtaking land, 60 miles east of Burlington and three hours from Boston or Montreal. Set on a gently rolling hillside meadow surrounded by forest, the timber stage creates an unforgettable vibe which last year hosted 1500 dancing, smiling, loving faces under a moonlit sky. A homegrown event, Festivus was founded by Toubab Krewe bassist David Pransky, and takes place on his family's longtime farm.

The “forward thinking, groove-heavy" (JamBase) Toubab Krewe of Asheville, NC headline both nights. Friday night will also include a rare U.S. performance by Oumou Sangare, “the songbird of Mali," with Virgin Islands roots masters Midnite opening the gathering. Jamaican reggae legends Barrington Levy and Earl “Chinna" Smith and NYC's old-school hip-hop duo Black Sheep will also move the crowds Saturday. Sunday will feature the “Dillafied gangsta reggae soul jazz hop Funkin'rock'nRoll" of Boston's Jazz Criminals. Other performers include Lamine Soumano, Strength In Numbers, Movement of the People: Fela Kuti Tribute Ensemble, Boubacar Diabate, Sara Grace & The Suits, and Jeh Kulu. A Saturday night afterparty will feature J. Holla, Relolon, D.J. Patrick B., My Dear Disco, Digilog, S-Factor and many more.

Pre-sale weekend tickets for all three days are available for just $65 now, and will go up to $75 July 1. VIP packages offering on-site parking and camping, a VIP lounge with snacks and refreshments, special artist performances, massage options, VIP Hot Tubs, VIP restrooms, stage views, backstage access and more are $100. Single-night tickets are $50. Children 12 and under will be admitted free. Gates open at 2 p.m. on Friday; Midnite goes on at 8 p.m. sharp.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Sabu School in Conakry, Guinea, a children's school for Sierra Leone refugees, and will also go to supporting Toubab Krewe's teachers, their families, and the musical traditions of West Africa and beyond.

NationalGeographic.com recently picked The Manifestivus as one of “The Best Of This Year's Summer Festivals," noting it “manages to punch above its weight by attracting top international talent."
