Jazz Bridge and Friends of Hawthorne Park present Grammy Award-winning trumpeter, bandleader and recording artist Duane Eubanks and his Quartet on Thursday, July 17th (rain date, July 24th). This is the third in the four-concert Jazz in Hawthorne Park series, each featuring our area’s finest jazz artists. Philadelphia native Duane Eubanks is a swinging and inventive trumpeter who has worked with many of the giants of jazz, performing everywhere from the Hollywood Bowl to Birdland to the Kennedy Center, in addition to touring throughout Europe and Japan. He has also been featured in All About Jazz and Jazz Times, and was a recipient of two Grammy Awards for Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album, citing his work in the Dave Holland Big Band albums What Goes Around in 2002 and Overtime in 2005. He continues touring and recording, and is working on some original music for a recording project that will encompass genres ranging from R & B to hip-hop.
