Acclaimed jazz musician and Indianapolis native, Travis Brant, is set to release his highly anticipated EP, Casual Metres on February 10, 2025, under Def Left Ear Records. This four-track collection showcases Brant's exceptional talent as both a composer and producer, further solidifying his reputation in the contemporary jazz scene.

The EP benefits from the expertise of two distinguished industry veterans. Steve Sykes, a seasoned producer, engineer, and mixer based in Fort Collins, lent his mixing prowess to the project. Originally from Philadelphia, Sykes began his career as a session guitarist, collaborating with notable artist Stanley Clarke and composer David Campbell. His transition to engineering and mixing led him to work with legends like The Isley Brothers, Angela Winbush, and Brenda Russell. Sykes' rich history in the music industry brings a refined clarity to the sound of “Casual Metres."

Mastering the EP is Paul Blakemore, a multiple Grammy-winning audio engineer with over 45 years of experience across various musical styles, including jazz, classical, and Latin jazz. Currently serving as a staff mastering engineer for Concord Records, Blakemore's extensive portfolio includes work with esteemed artists such as Esperanza Spalding and Arturo Sandoval. His award-winning ear ensures that “Casual Metres" delivers a polished and immersive listening experience.

Travis Brant's journey in music began in Indianapolis, where he developed a profound appreciation for jazz. His previous works include collaborations with contemporary jazz titans Gerald Albright, Paul Brown, Michael Lington, and Darren Rahn. In 2023, Brant earned a spot on the Billboard / Mediabase Top 40 smooth jazz chart with his Indianapolis-based band, Axon Radio. Casual Metres; is poised to captivate both long-time fans and new listeners alike.
