Anthony Coleman's Retake Iowa and Know Trio
Anthony Coleman's Retake Iowa ensemble, the Know Trio with special guest Jorrit Dijkstra, Chris Veilleux, Dana Jessen, Jerry Sabatini, and others perform Monday, April 9 at 8:30pm as part of the Music Workshops 2nd Monday concert series at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge (15 Dana Ave, Hyde Park; 617-276-3223; http:// themusicworkshop.blogspot.com). A donation is suggested.
Retake Iowa is an ensemble comprised of improvisation students at the New England Conservatory coached by pianist/composer Anthony Coleman. They will perform a new composition, “I Diet on Cod," written especially for the ensemble by Coleman.
Know Trio is percussionist Gary Fieldman, violinist Ima Jonsdottir, and hornist Dan Shaud. Alto saxophonist Jorrit Dijkstra will join them for this performance.
Saxophonist Chris Veilleux and bassoonist Dana Jessen will perform two duets composed by Veilleux, and trumpeter Jerry Sabatini will perform solo improvisations.
The Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge is accessible by #32 bus and Commuter Rail (Hyde Park Stop).
