About Raul Midon: One man, one guitar—but not like you've ever heard before. Raul Midon uses his mouth like a trumpet and his guitar like a drum for an explosive blend of bass, harmony, rhythm and melody. His rich, supple tenor, not to mention his flamenco and jazz-infused songs, make this New Mexico-bred New Yorker one to watch on the world scene. Raul Midon is an original singer-songwriter whose particular brand of laid-back soul and pop reflects musical influences ranging from jazz to Latin folklore. Midon unleashes a silky, soulful tenor and dazzling percussive guitar style—a syncopated, flamenco and jazz infused approach in which bass, harmony, and melodic lines emanate from the fretboard in one slap-happy storm. He also delivers an improvisational mouth horn technique in which he creates a bebop “trumpet" solo entirely with his lips. The alchemy of Midon's distinct voice, strumming, beats and vocal mouth trumpet sounds to create a stunning one-man performance. His unique style shows influence of virtually every musical genre which came before him, including jazz, blues, R&B, and folk. Midon has performed with such artists as Shakira, Jose Feliciano, Stevie Wonder and Julio Iglesias.
