Callie Cardamon shines on her most recent studio release, Jump For Joy. Cardamon has a special relationship with music; she genuinely feels what she is singing about, and it is amazing to hear how she is connected to the material. This is definitely the case on Jump For Joy. This record features five songs and each track highlights her lovely voice and amazing creative range. The opening track is actually a perfect opening for this effort, and it gives the audience a perfect insight of what they can expect from the rest of the EP in terms of production aesthetics and songwriting warmth. Next up is a beautiful rendition of “Summertime.” This particular number is a testament to Cardamon's classy style and passion for delivering beautiful and passionate performances.

The third song on the record is a track titled “On the Street Where You Live,” which has a classic, timeless vibe. This performance is undoubtedly one of the highlights on the EP, and it features one of Cardamon’s best vocal hooks. The fourth song on this release is titled “Peel Me A Grape,” and it has a sultry feel which matches her style and creativity. This is a perfect fit with the other songs on this EP, yet it also brings something quite different to the project, highlighting the singer’s incredible versatility and broad creative scope. Last, but definitely not least, “Why Try to Change Me Now,” is a deeply heartfelt song, perhaps one of the most emotional tracks on this effort.

Cardamon sings every word with just the right weight, infusing the music with meaning and pathos. Much like the best jazz singers, Cardamon is not afraid to go all-out with her vocals, but she also knows when to keep things down and experiment with the dynamics of her performance. This is a tastefully produced EP release with a penchant for outstanding jazz vocals.
