Generously supported by The Wallace Foundation, the Hotplate program provides new performance opportunities for local jazz talent and is set to run continuously through 2011.
SFJAZZ kicks off the series with guitarist Terrence Brewer in tribute to Wes Montgomery on Thursday, September 10 at Amnesia, 853 Valencia Street, in the Mission District. Vinnie Esparza, voted “Best Local DJ” by the Guardian, will be spinning from 8:00pm and between sets, also in tribute to the jazz legend of the night.
Plus, people can enter to win valuable SFJAZZ merchandise, including hoodies, t-shirts, CDs and tickets to the 27th Annual San Francisco Jazz Festival. Cover charge is $5.00 and doors open at 8:00pm with DJ Vinnie Esparza.
