Russian Guitar Virtuoso Roman Miroshnichenko Nominated In The 18th Independent Music Awards

Multi-Award winning guitarist, bandleader and producer Roman Miroshnichenko was named by Music Resource Group (MRG) today as a Nominee in The 18th annual Independent Music Awards (The IMAs). Nominated for the Best Compilation Album Category Roman's latest album “Top 10 Songs of 10 Years (Anthology)"—a compilation of ten selected original Award-winning compositions composed, produced and recorded by Roman Miroshnichenko in 2009-2019.

The winning projects will be selected by influential judging panels including: Tom Waits, Robert Smith, Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, Carl Palmer, The Cardigans, Gloria Gaynor, to name a few. Previous IMA Winners and Nominees including: George Benson, Jeff Healey, Larry Carlton, David Sanborn, Paul Wertico, Paquito D'Rivera, Macy Gray, among many others; and influential press and talent buyers from the Americas, Europe and Pacific Rim.

After receiving a total of 30 nominations with 12 wins in multiple international songwriting contests and music awards throughout 2002-2020, Roman is the Russia’s most prominent and celebrated guitarist and one of the premier guitarists of his generation in the world. He has been nominated and awarded in more different international musical contests than anyone of Russian jazz musicians. Roman Miroshnichenko is featured in The Great Jazz Guitarists Encyclopedia by Hal Leonard Books, the most comprehensive and competent guide to jazz guitarists ever published (from Django Reinhardt to John McLaughlin and beyond).

During his soaring career Miroshnichenko has performed/recorded with such musicians as Steve Vai, Jennifer Batten, Marco Mendoza, Heather Headley, Paul Wertico, Djivan Gasparyan, Dominique di Piazza, to name a few. For a few years, he played in a duo with “Godfather of Fusion" Larry Coryell. Currently Roman is getting ready for the autumn tour as the member for CAB—jazz-fusion band of two-time Grammy-nominated bass guitarist Bunny Brunel.

Winners will be announced in New York on June 21st-22nd.
