Rob Mullins/Joe Anderies Clinic and Concert on March 28th at Pierre's Fine Pianos (LA)

Noted Colorado jazz educator Joe Anderies will be in Los Angeles for a special collaboration with longtime colleague Rob Mullins on Sunday, March 28th at the performance auditorium of Pierre's Fine Pianos. Joe has been on the forefront of the jazz and music education scene for over 20 years having developed his mentoring concepts and “Music Beyond Borders Project" in the elementary schools where he teaches band and orchestra. His concepts have been extended to older students in many jazz camps and workshops around the country. In addition, he has made professional presentations at jazz education conventions and workshops both in the United States and Europe. On the performance front Joe has continued to perform and record on saxophone and alto flute along with top Denver musicians in between his teaching schedule. He has been collaborating with pianist/composer Rob Mullins for over 32 years in performance, recording and educational venues.

The collaboration on March 28th will feature a one hour jazz education clinic with both Rob and Joe presenting their intersecting concepts on jazz improvisation and composition. All ages are encouraged to attend this unique clinic and presentation. Following the clinic will be a concert performance of the Rob Mullins Quartet featuring Rob on piano, Joe on saxophones and alto flute, Tikki Pasillas on drums, and Larry Antonio on bass. The workshop will run from 2 - 3 pm and the concert from 3:30 - 5 pm. at Pierre's Fine Pianos performance auditorium at 11039 West Pico Boulevard, Los Angeles.
