Paul McCartney Rejects EMI, Takes Catalog to Indie

It was not the news that a struggling EMI wanted to hear. Yesterday Sir Paul McCarthey revealed that he'd re-release his post-Beatle catalog through indie Concord Music Group. EMI had previously handled almost his 2 dozen albums of McCartney solo and fronting Wings under an exclusive license.

The former Beatle worked with Concord on a 2007 album and a 2009 CD/DVD hybrid “Good Evening New York City." “Since the release of 'Memory Almost Full' in 2007 I've had a good working relationship with Concord and enjoyed our mutual love of music," McCartney said in a statement.
